ABOUT THE FACILITY
Governed by a seven member elected Board, St. Luke Hospital has 10 staffed acute beds and 32 nursing home beds. SLH is a district managed, 10-bed Critical
Access Hospital. The facility provides care to a primary service area of 9,100.Gross patient revenues = $11,000,000 with net patient revenues = $8,000,000. A/R days = 52 (gross) with an ADC = 2.6. CPSI is their accounting software. There are 4 active physicians on staff and another 26 physicians in consulting/courtesy roles.
Unique services provided: Hydrotherapy treatment through their Therapy Department. A $6.2 million renovation and expansion project was completed in 2011 which involved every department in the hospital, with extensive updates to IP, OR, ER, Lab and Therapy.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
Marion (county seat of Marion County) is situated in east central Kansas about an hour north of Wichita and is equal distance between McPherson to the west and Emporia to the east. Known as the town between two lakes, Marion Reservoir and Marion County Lake, the county has a population of 12,000.
Marion County Park and Lake is a beautiful, peaceful area with RV hookups, shower and bathroom facilities, swimming, water skiing, wind surfing, picnic facilities, shelter houses, heated fishing dock, large meeting hall, and much, much more!! Marion County Lake was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places. Hunting and golf are other favorite activities. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Hospital. This position is accountable for planning, organizing, and directing the hospital to ensure that quality patient care is provided and that the financial integrity of the hospital is maintained. The CEO ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as all policies and procedures set forth by the Governing Board and Medical Staff, and those required by Medicare Survey Standards.
The CEO is responsible for creating an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals, conveying the hospital mission to all staff, holding staff accountable for their performance, motivating staff to improve performance and being responsible for the measurement, assessment and continuous improvement of the hospital''s performance.

Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
MHA or MBA
5 plus years progressive experience in hospital operations as hospital CEO or equivalent.
Strong physician relations and understanding of physician practice management.
Managed care experience, experience and knowledge in quality initiatives.
